we are COMMUNITY.

The urban community garden collective, LLC (UCGC-LA) is a for-profit organization that
is dedicated to the revitalization of communities that are justice-impacted. The mission of the organization is threefold:

  1. Implementing trauma-informed and culturally relevant horticultural curricula to school-aged children grades K-12 and incarcerated populations to educate and inspire a sense of stewardship as citizens of the world.
  2. Introducing vocational training to (formerly) incarcerated individuals, which serves to lessen the trauma of reentry and prepare them for “green jobs.”
  3. To introduce and maintain a yoga and mindfulness, or restorative justice program in undeserved areas by utilizing workshops and donations, as well as privately and publicly funded projects that will plant the seeds of curiosity and inspire at-risk and proven-risk communities to become beautiful gardens of "change."

Indigenous Land Acknowledgement: Our circle extends to and occupies the stolen lands of the Tataviam, Kitanemuk, Kawaiisu, Vanyume and Gabrielino.
